CAN I WATCH VIDEO ON MY TOASTER?

Certainly, the answer is no, however toaster isn't really what we call a "mobile device". But don't get upset: if you want to be able to watch your movies and photos and listen to music anywhere at any time, go to the nearest electronics store and get yourself a Pocket PC, Portable Media Center or at least an expensive mobile phone.

  • Pocket PC
Pocket PC, or PDA (stands for Personal Digital Assistant) is a Microsoft Windows-based portable device that can fit in your pocket (that's why it's called Pocket PC). Latest models of Pocket PCs have almost the same speed and power as 3-year old desktop computers: they have fast 600 mHz processors and memory up to 1 Gb. With a Pocket PC, you can do all daily tasks you do with your desktop or laptop: view and save MS Office files, play games, send emails, chat, browse in Internet and much more. Many models today have an in-built mobile telephone: it means that you can call with your Pocket PC just as with "normal" cellphone.
There are many movie players for Pocket PC out there, however all Pocket PCs are equipped by default with Windows Media Player that can play back files of WMV format (Windows Media Video).

  • Portable Media Center
While Pocket PC is rather a business device, Portable Media Center is purely an entertainment console. It can playback video and music files and display images. These gadgets are a perfect choice if you need a device solely for fun and for attracting women. Portable Media Centers are Windows-based and support lots of file formats: MP3, WAV and WMA for audio, JPEG for images, and WMV, AVI and MPEG for video.

  • Mobile phones
Although video playback is not the main feature of a mobile phone, many manufacturers include it in their latest models. We can understand them: mobile phones become more powerful, their screens get larger and it's a good promotion. So anyway, if you're a happy owner of such mobile phone, you'll want to have your favorite movie on your phone. There isn't any standard for videos on mobile phone: while all Microsoft-based smartphones support WMV format, some phones can playback MPEG4 or AVI.
